Prudential California Realty is now Rich Cosner & Associates

For the past 25 years Rich Cosner has owned some of the very largest Prudential firms in the nation. On December 12, 2016, the firm will become Rich Cosner & Associates.

The firm currently operates in the communities of Riverside, Rancho Cucamonga and Calimesa. Other locations will be opening in the first quarter of 2017.

When asked about the change, Cosner used a famous Wayne Gretzsky quote to make a point. “Wayne Gretzsky said that he was so successful because he did not skate to where the puck was..but instead to where the puck was going to be. That is exactly what we are doing with our real estate firm.”

For the past few years, Prudential has been moving to exit the real estate business and focus only on their massive insurance and financial services operations. We have known for a few years that we would need to make a decision about a new brand as our Prudential exit came closer.

I have been doing a significant amount of research over the past few years knowing this change was coming. I wanted to decide on what would be the best move for our clients and our real estate professional sales agents who represent those clients. What I learned was somewhat surprising. After having represented national brands for over 30 years, I discovered that the trend is away from the large big box national brands and towards the local independent firm and agents that becomes the experts in their local markets.

With the advent of so much technology becoming available and the ability of the local experts able to communicate their messages and information on social media, the large national brands have found themselves at a disadvantage. The Riverside agent of today does not care about his brands offices in other states, she cares about the job her own firm can do for her clients.

These are the primary reasons I moved to our own independent brand. Uniquely, we are branding our agents right along with our brand. While the firm is Rich Cosner and Associates, the signage will show as Cosner and Meza, for example, for our agent Gaby Meza in Rancho Cucamonga. It will show as Cosner and Serrano for Catalina Serrano in Riverside etc. We are a local firm and have been for some 30 years. Our agents are some of the finest in our local markets. I wanted to find a way to feature them prominently in our new brand.

While Cosner has left behind the national branding, he has not left behind the power of a large network. His firm is a member of the Leading Real Estate Companies of the world. With this network he has over 3,500 affiliated offices around the world and over 120,000 real estate professionals. This is far more than any national network. These offices and networks will refer their clients moving to the Inland Empire to Rich Cosner & Associates. We’re local. We’re Global, Cosner says. Our agents get the best of both worlds. We are deep into our own local markets and have the largest network of agents from around the world sending us their clients who are moving to this area. Local and Global.
